DESCRIPTION:Experience the enchanting melodies of internationally acclaimed harpist Jan Walters for an Evening of Music in the Parlour. Complimentary beverage and snacks will be served. \nJan Walters enjoys a varied career – having performed all over Europe\, Canada\, Japan\, Hong Kong\, and the USA\, Jan has been a featured regular performer in such prestigious hotels as The Plaza\, The Helmsley Palace\, and the St Regis in New York City\, the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver Canada\, and The Berkshire Hotel on Oxford Street in London. She has played aboard Holland America Line’s MS Niew Amsterdam\, been a featured artist for three years in the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival\, and performed with Sammy Davis Junior in Reno\, Nevada\, USA. Jan is also well known for her artistry in historical performance practice and has been a featured soloist in both concerts and recordings with many of Europe’s leading period instrument ensembles including The Consort of Music\, The Sixteen\, and The Purcell Quartet. She has played at The Proms in The Royal Albert Hall and recorded the soundtrack for the Merchant Ivory film Jefferson in Paris\, and appeared with The Netherlands Opera. DESCRIPTION:Our local macramé expert Ladonna has been making macramé hangers and wall hangings for many years. She loves how clean and organized the knots can be and learned from her sister in the early 70’s when it made a huge resurgence.   Her first apartment had ceiling hooks everywhere making a macramé room divider and filling the room with plants. She is excited to share the beauty and art of macramé. \nIn this workshop you will be making a hanger originally made by Mark Mason and published in a macramé pattern magazine in 1976. It is an original vintage pattern! The workshop will be approximately 3 hours. \nMacramé is a French word for knot and is known to be one of the oldest forms of textile art. It involves creating beautiful and functional designs through a series of knots in various patterns and is an ornate way to display plants in pots. \nSign Up HERE

DESCRIPTION:You will get an orchid seedling of your choice to pot up and take home. The purpose of this class is to try more exotic varieties of orchids in your growing environment at an affordable price. We have a number of different types of orchids that are ready for potting up into 3.5 inch pots. We will have Cattleya\, Oncidium\, Dendrobium\, Vandaceous orchids and others\, some of which are very close to blooming size.. All varieties were selected to be compact and able to grow indoors on a window sill or under lights.
