Houseplants 101 – FREE
Here at The Planted Parlour we want you to be successful with your houseplant growing. This free seminar will empower you with important basics on plants and their needs. You will learn about plant metabolism, morphology and how understanding those basics will better your ability to grow any plant.

Saturday, October 18th – 2:00pm
Rabbit’s Foot Fern Kokedama Workshop
Kokedama is a traditional Japanese method of displaying plants. This elegant style ditches the pot and, instead, grows the plant in a ball of moss which can be hung in a window or placed on a display stand. Just like a plant in a pot, kokedama is easy to care for, wanting a good soaking once a week. Rabbit’s Foot Ferns are particularly good candidates for kokedama, being able to handle a bit more neglect than other plants, but they create a striking enchanted forest look! In this workshop you will make your own Rabbit’s Foot Fern kokedama in a fun classroom setting. All materials and instruction will be provided. Space is limited so sign up today. Sign up HERE.
Third Sunday of the Month – 1:00pm
Bonsai Society Open Studio – FREE!
Bonsai is the Japanese art of growing and shaping miniature trees in containers. It is an ancient, highly nuanced art form that dates back as far as the 8th century. Join the local bonsai society and learn more about this ancient art. Attendance is free.

We are not plant dealers, we are plant growers!
Our shop has been painstakingly set up so that the plants can grow as they wait for their eventual owner (you!) to adopt them. At no time do our plants see the neglect they would experience at the big-box stores.
You can rest assured that plants from us have been cared for and are in excellent health when they leave our shop. And with over 25 years of horticultural experience we are happy to field any questions you might have regarding our products.
